1. Where is the library located and how do I get there?

The central library is located in the center of the city, in the part called Terasa. It is located approx. 200m from Hotel STEEL, in the building, which was formerly the kindergarten �nad b�ehem�, on Lidick� street.

2. What do you need to register in the library?

You become a registered member of the library after you are given a reader card, which will be given to you on the basis of a filled out registration form and the presentation of a valid document for proof of ID. In order to get a price reduction, you will need to present a valid document, which entitles you to a discount.

3. What is an internal loan and an external loan?

Internal loan: the document cannot be taken outside the library, it can be only be loaned for study in the study room.

External loan: the document can be taken outside the library after registering the loan.

4. Is it possible to borrow individual Cds and CDs which are distributed as a supplement to magazines?

Individual CDs cannot be loaned externally. They can only be loaned internally and viewed in the study room. CDs, which are distributed as a supplement to magazines, may be loaned externally for 30 days, but only with the complementary magazine.

5. Is it possible to announce changes to my personal details by e-mail?

Personal details (name, address�) cannot be changed by e-mail. Changes can only be made personally by presenting valid ID.

6. Is it possible to order or reserve a document (book, magazine�) by internet? What is the difference between an order and a reservation?

You can only reserve a document which is currently unavailable. You can order a document which is not on the library shelves but is located in the library depositories. To order or reserve a document you must be a registered library user.

You may reserve a document of which at least one copy is currently on loan. You can reserve a document by yourself on the on-line catalog, through a librarian or by the internet on the library web pages. If you stated your e-mail address on the library registration form, you will be informed when your reservation is available, by your e-mail address or by sms. The library charges a fee for sending a notification by post according to the price list. Notification by e-mail and sms is free of charge.

OYou may order a document in the library through a librarian or by e-mail. The waiting period for a document is one week.

7. Is it possible to cancel a reservation?

Cancellation of a reservation is possible only through a librarian, either personally or by telephone. If notification has already been sent by post, the fee for notification must still be paid even if the reservation has been cancelled.

8. Do I have to be registered at the library if I want to use the internet in the study room?

If you want to use the internet in the study room you do not have to be registered at the library. Internet in the study room is available to all without restriction. The standard fee is 20K�/hour (counted by minutes)..

9. Is a registration card from the central library valid in other library branches?

The registration card is valid in all sections of the central library and the library branch Star� M�sto � n�m. M�ru. In other branches, separate registration cards are issued. It is not possible to borrow documents on somebody else's library card.

The registration card is valid in all sections of the central library and the library branch Star� M�sto � n�m. M�ru.

11. From what year are the statute books available in the library in printed form? Can I borrow them externally or photocopy them and how much does a photocopy cost?

The statute books are documented from the year 1969.

The statute books cannot be borrowed externally and are available in the study room only. The statute books can be photocopied or printed from the internet. Photocopying and printing costs 2K� for each A4.

The basic library and information services are free of charge. Fees for certain services are charged according to the price list..

Children registered in the library have internet for an hour free in the children�s section.

14. How many documents can be borrowed externally?

The number of documents borrowed on one registration card is not limited.

15.For how long can documents be borrowed externally?

Documents can be borrowed for 1 month. The borrowing period can be prolonged twice by a month, if the reader requests an extension before the document is due and the document is not reserved. In certain situations it is possible to reloan a document but only after its presentation.

16. Why does the library charge vindicatory fees for days when the library is closed and it is not possible to return the documents?

Each reader is informed not only by when the document must be returned but also of the library opening hours. The return date is always a day on which the library is open. Vindicatory fees are charged for each day after the return date. A notification is sent home by post after the loan is 14 days overdue. In case the reader is unable to come to the library for whatever reason he/she has the option of extending the return date by telephone or by e-mail.

17. Why do bags, coats, umbrellas etc. have to be put away in the coatroom?

The reasons for this, are for the protection of the library documents, library and reader property, reader comfort and to provide better services. The library does not take responsibility for things set aside anywhere apart from the coatroom. Coatroom services are FREE of charge!!
